Gordon McCallum, CEO of Virgin Management, joined the company as Group Strategy Director in 1998, after working for the company for two years as a freelance consultant. During that time, he was heavily involved in the establishment of the Group's banking business.
McCallum is a member of the Group's Investment Advisory Committee and is involved with all aspects of Group Strategy. He is also non-executive Director of several Virgin companies, including Virgin Media in the UK, Virgin's International Mobile companies (U.S., S Africa, France and Canada), Virgin Money and Virgin Enterprises (the owner of the Virgin trademark).
Previously, McCallum spent several years working as a consultant for McKinsey & Co. in the U.S (1990-1995), and as an investment banker for Baring Brothers in London and Asia (1983-1987). He holds an MA from Oxford University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
